Evening and weekend discussions will be offered at various neighborhood libraries in the fall to parents and guardians to meet with our Admissions Director and faculty, ask questions, and further explore the type of fit NWS is for your student. These events are not sponsored by the Seattle Public Library.

Parent Coffees

Puget Sound Independent School Fairs
The Northwest School joins more than 30 Seattle-area schools at three independent school information fairs presented by Puget Sound Independent Schools. These are excellent opportunities to learn about multiple educational options in one location.

  • Seattle School Fair: Monday, Oct. 14, 6:00-8:00 pm, Northgate Community Center
  • Independent School Fair for People of Color, Wednesday, Oct. 16, 6:00-8:00 pm, New Holly Gathering Hall (this fair is open to all, with a focus on diversity, equity, and inclusion at independent schools and the experiences of students of colors and their families)
  • Spring School Fair, April 26, 2020, 2:00-3:00 pm, Garfield Community Center

Applicant Visits and Family Information Sessions
A campus visit is a required step in applying to The Northwest School. When you submit a preliminary application on Ravenna, your student will be scheduled for their visit, and you will receive information about attending optional applicant family information sessions. Applicants will experience a sampling of classes during their visit and do a writing exercise. Family members will hear from the Middle or Upper School Division Director and a panel of current students. Additional visit and tour opportunities will also be offered to accepted students after decisions are sent.
