After School Care & Enrichment Programming

After School Care - The Northwest School offers an after school program for our Middle School students. It is a supervised setting for students who need to be at school up until 6:00 pm, each school day.

The program is held in the school library, starting daily at 3:30 pm, and provides a quiet space to work on homework and get some organizational assistance. While not tutoring per se, sometimes extra help getting backpacks in order and keeping track of assignments is a welcome boost. A small snack will be provided daily for the students. Any student participating in the program must be in the library by 4:00 pm, and must be picked up by 6:00 pm. The fee is $15 per day. Any pick-up after 6:00 PM will be assessed an additional charge of $1 a minute. Charges will be reflected on your monthly statement (available via My Backpack).

If you are a family on financial aid, please refer to The Northwest Experience Fund information in regards to how fees for the after school program are covered.

We will accept drop-in students, but to better prepare, we ask that you RSVP as soon as you know you need care by emailing us at afterschool@northwestschool.org.

Pick-Up from After School Care:
Please note that all students in after school care must be signed out by the parent or authorized person. If you are picking up after 4:30 (when the main doors close), you will need to go to the entrance just north of the main doors by the fenced-in garden. Call the number for the after school program posted on the door and someone will come to let you in. If you, as a parent/guardian, will not be picking up your child, please email us with the name of the person who is authorized for pick-up. We will not release your child unless we receive this information from you. If you need to reach the after school program between the hours of 3:00 - 6:00, please call 206-816-6126. For general inquiries, please call 206-816-6211.
