2019 Fall Ecl Hero

Northwest Athletes Honored with League Awards

Fourteen Northwest School student athletes received Emerald City League (ECL) awards for their excellent performances in fall sports. The awards cap off a successful fall 2019 season for many of our sports squads.

Both boys’ and girls’ cross county teams finished in ninth place at the State Meet on Nov. 9. This year marks the ninth-consecutive year the girls’ have qualified for the meet, the longest current streak at the 1A level in the state.

The boys’ ultimate team finished the regular season with a 9-1 record, capturing the ECL title for the second year in a row. The boys fought hard in the playoffs and came up just short in the championship game, falling to Cleveland High School on Nov. 3.
