Northwest Welcomes Exchange Students

The Northwest School community welcomed eight visiting students from our partner schools in Spain and France. Three students from Lycée Emmanuel Mounier, our partner school in Angers, France, arrived on Sept. 16, and five students from Centro Docente María, our partner school in Seville, Spain, arrived on Sept. 19. While at Northwest, the visiting students will observe classes and participate in extra-curricular, athletic, and social activities as members of our community.

“I came to Northwest because I wanted to discover a new culture, build relationships during the exchange, and, most importantly, improve my English,” says Morgane B., one of the visiting students from France. "This experience is more autonomous. I have to do things myself, make decisions, and that is the best way to learn about a culture.”

Many of the visiting students are staying with Northwest School juniors who enrolled in our Study Aboard Program in Spring 2019. To read more about The Northwest School’s Global Learning Program, click here.

“Our exchange program with our partner schools in Spain, France, and Taiwan is one of the unique features of The Northwest School,” says Director of Global Marketing and Outreach Dmitry Sherbakov. “Our community benefits from exposure to students and faculty from different countries, just as our visitors benefit from the different culture they experience in the United States.”
