Boys' Basketball Named Academic State Champs

The Northwest School boys' basketball team was recently named the Washington Interscholastic Activities Association (WIAA) Winter Team Academic State Champions in the 1A classification. The 11 members of the boys' basketball squad averaged a 3.843 grade point average.

"This recognition exemplifies the ideal Northwest School student experience," says Britt Atack, Director of Athletics. "Our students are incredibly engaged individuals in all aspects. This goes to show how success on the court and success in the classroom can and should go hand in hand."

The award is another accolade for a fantastic season from the boys' team. They clinched the Emerald City League Championship for the first time in school history, earning a No. 5 seed in the 1A state playoffs as a result.
