Girls’ and Boys’ Teams Prepare for Playoffs

The girls' ultimate squad secured an Emerald City League (ECL) championship on Thursday, May 3, defeating Bush 9-8. The girls' are undefeated in league play and 9-1 overall. They finish the regular season on Tuesday, May 8, against University Prep. The State Playoffs begin on May 29.

Our girls' track and field team won their second-consecutive ECL championship on Thursday, May 17, and the boys' finished second. Northwest had seven individual league champions: Isa M. '18 (800m and 1600m), Jamie C. '18 (200m), Macenna H. '19 (3200m), Grace P. '19 (300m hurdles), Amelia H. '19 (100m hurdles), and Mosey B. '19 (100m).

Additionally, the boys' soccer season ended in the Bi-District Tournament against Meridian High School in a closely fought overtime game, 3-2, on Tuesday, May 8. The boys' finished the regular season with a 6-4-2 record and 20 points, fourth in the ECL. They rode a tight defense throughout the season, only giving up nine goals, the second fewest in the ECL.
