Great minds inspire great thinking

Guided by our founders' belief that a great school is built around great teachers. The Northwest School selects faculty members for their intellectual and creative passions, as well as their love for teaching. Each embraces the philosophy and values of the school, believes in working collaboratively and, above all, has an unwavering commitment to inspiring students to grow as thinkers and responsible citizens. What’s more, they’re engaged in their own personal learning and growth. Among our faculty, you'll find Fulbright scholars, community activists, published poets and working artists - not to mention world travelers, environmentalists, comedians and athletes.

To me, being in the classroom with students is endlessly enjoyable and energizing. Adolescents are particularly dynamic. They learn, grow, and change daily, and they still have incredible capacity to be and become almost anything. Who would not want to be around that kind of ferment and potential every day?
