Alonzo Collins

Humanities Teacher

Alonzo Collins holds a bachelor’s degree in liberal studies and a Master of Arts in education from Antioch University. Alonzo brings more than 12 years teaching experience at schools such as the British International School in Geneva and the School of Languages in Switzerland. He begins the 2022-23 school year as full-time teaching faculty. Alonzo has been with Northwest for the past two years, serving as substitute teacher, instructional assistant and leave-replacement humanities teacher. We are thrilled he is staying in the House. In his statement of teaching philosophy, Alonzo told us: “Over the course of my 12 years in the classroom, teaching on three continents, it has become clear to me that every child is different and special. So I constantly strive to foster a stimulating and challenging environment that is tailored to each student, yet as much as possible allows the whole class to move forward together.”
