Jeff Blair

B.A. with Honors (Political Economy), Colorado College; M.Ed. (Curriculum and Instruction), Seattle University, as James Madison Fellow for teaching the U.S. Constitution; Washington State Teaching Certificate, Pacific Lutheran University; 2001 Gates Foundation Teacher Leadership Project grant recipient.

Jeff is currently teaching 8th grade Humanities, a world geography and literature course. This course reflects Jeff's passionate interest in global education, a commitment that has been recognized by multiple awards and opportunities. For example, Jeff was a founding leader of our exchange trip to France (a trip he co-led most recently in 2017), and he was also the first teacher at our partner school in Ethiopia, where he stayed for four months in 2013 and has returned twice since. He also received a Fulbright Distinguished Award in Teaching to do educational research in South Africa in 2010 and was selected to participate in the Fulbright Japan-U.S. Teacher Exchange Program for Education for Sustainable Development in 2014. Jeff helped found both the student Environmental Interest Group and the school's Sustainability Committee, of which he is still an active member. Most recently, Jeff was chosen as the World Affairs Council’s 2017-2018 World Educator. Currently, Jeff is working on a project, The Globe Reads, to link NWS students with peers in classrooms around the world to discuss shared readings.
