Mackenzie Dickinson

B.A. (Psychology), Western Washington University.

Mackenzie graduated from Western Washington University with a degree in psychology, specializing in adolescent development. After college, she followed the advice of a trusted mentor and decided to get experience in a school environment to make sure this was where she wanted to spend her career. She came to Northwest as a long-term substitute teacher and discovered teaching, rather than counseling, was her true passion. She has taught all grade levels but considers sixth grade particularly special.

“Sixth grade students are creative, curious, and open, and you begin to see some traits of their adult selves emerging. Every day is so much fun.”

When she is not in the classroom, Mackenzie takes particular pleasure in cooking, creating mixed-media art, and spending time outdoors.
