Mary Anne Henderson

Ph.D. Candidate (History), University of Washington.

Mary Anne was born and raised in South Texas, but has called Seattle home for the last seven years. She completed a master’s in 19th and 20th century U.S. history in 2009 and subsequently began work on her Ph.D. in U.S. and Latin American history. Along with her academic work, Mary Anne worked as a researcher and consultant for the Bezos Center for Innovation at Seattle’s Museum of History and Industry. She has taught at UW since 2008, substituted at Northwest since 2012, and is currently finishing her dissertation. Throughout her education several wonderful teachers nurtured a growing interest in history and Mary Anne strives to bring the subject alive in similar ways for her students.
