Mimi Yang

B.S. (Electrical Engineering and Computer Science), University of California, Berkeley; M.A. (Secondary Math Education), City College of New York.

Mimi began her career working as a software developer for Amazon.com. When she discovered her interest in working with adolescents, she moved to NYC to teach at an innovative inner-city school in the Bronx while pursuing her degree in math education as part of the NYC Teaching Fellows program. After completing the program, Mimi taught at private international schools in both El Salvador and Germany; these experiences have helped her to appreciate both diversity in the classroom and differences between curricula. She loves projects, hands-on math, traveling, and swing dancing.
