Richard Ha

Middle School Dean of Students

B.A. (Economics and English), Boston College; M.A. (Education Policy) Brown University Richard started his career with Teach For America in Providence, RI where he taught middle school mathematics. He also taught at the Bentley School in Oakland, CA, Stuart Hall for Boys in San Francisco and The Hamlin School in San Francisco. In addition to teaching, Richard recruited for Teach For America at the University of California, Berkeley. Richard tells us: "In my senior year of college, I knew that I wanted to have a fulfilling, impactful, and enriching career. I studied economics and interned at financial institutions, but I realized I didn't have a compelling answer to the question, 'Why do you want to work in finance?' I went to my career center to work on my interviewing skills, and I ended up speaking with a Teach For America recruiter. I applied that night. My work with Teach For America opened my eyes to my love for teaching."
