Roberto Ascalon

Roberto holds a bachelor’s degree in intercultural communications from The Evergreen State College, and a master’s degree in fine arts (creative writing). Roberto has extensive experience teaching poetry with many organizations in Seattle, including as a resident at the Richard Hugo House. He has performed all over Seattle, including multiple installations at the Frye Art Museum and the Seattle Art Museum. Roberto enjoys working with youth, especially through poetry. He said in his cover letter, “My students routinely break my heart wide open with their writing – in the best of ways. I am buoyed by the knowledge that my students crave feedback and mentorship.”
