Sara Gutmann

Humanities Teacher

Sara completed her Ph.D. in English from the University at Buffalo, New York in 2015. She earned her BA from the same university, and her Master's degree in English from the University of Minnesota, Duluth. She brings ten years' experience teaching English writing, rhetoric, grammar, and literature at the University at Buffalo to both native and non-native speakers. She also spent a year-and-a-half in China teaching in the English departments of two large universities. She has earned numerous grants and awards and completed five fellowships. Since moving to Seattle in 2014, she has prioritized raising her two young children while serving as a parent educator with PEPS (Program for Early Parent Support) and as a preschool teacher. She joined Northwest in the fall of 2021.
