Svetlana Turetskaya

B.A. (Philosophy), Mills College; M.A. (Philosophy), Arizona State University; A.B.D. (Philosophy) University of California, Riverside.

Svetlana grew up in St. Petersburg, Russia and came to the U.S. as a teenager during the collapse of the U.S.S.R., and subsequently spent many years in higher education studying and teaching philosophy. She attended a PhD program in philosophy at the University of California, Riverside, specializing in ethics. Svetlana previously managed an alumni program at The Bush School. She is also a fiction writer and a poet, and was recently awarded a poetry scholarship to Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference. In her free time she likes to read, attend dance performances, and hike the beautiful Pacific Northwest. She lives in Seattle with her daughter and their chatty parakeet Green Leaves.
