We have partnered with Learn to Return to design and implement our customized COVID-19 testing strategy for the 2021-2022 school year. School-based testing and other safety measures are effective tools for allowing schools to stay open safely for full-time, in-person learning. COVID-19 testing is critical for identifying cases of COVID-19 in our school, preventing the spread of disease, and keeping our students, teachers, and other faculty members on campus.

We are excited to announce that starting the week of October 4th we will begin conducting free onsite COVID-19 testing. We plan to test at least 10% of our population, including students and faculty members, each week.

Testing will be conducted through Abbott Laboratories BinaxNOW rapid antigen tests provided by the Washington State Department of Health. The test will be a self-administered anterior nasal swab and test results will be available within 15 minutes. A positive test result will result in the individual following our isolation protocol. Test results will be disclosed to the appropriate public health authorities, and as otherwise permitted or required by law.

In addition to our weekly testing model, we will also have several of these tests available for those experiencing signs/symptoms consistent with a COVID-19-like illness. In the event your student is experiencing signs/symptoms, the Health Coordinator will call parents/guardians to obtain consent before a COVID-19 test is administered. Test results will be available within 15 minutes. A positive antigen test result would require the individual to self-isolate according to our isolation protocol.

You will receive a COVID-19 testing consent form through My BackPack to enroll your student in our testing program. If you would like, you can click here to review the BinaxNOW Fact Sheet for Patients.
