Susan Fine

Prior to her arrival at Northwest, Susan served as Associate Director of Faculty and Instructional Designer/Coach at the Global Online Academy (GOA) from 2014 - 2021. Her responsibilities included coaching teachers learning to teach online and designing online courses. She built a distributed leadership, peer coaching program; and designed and supported all faculty professional learning. During her seven years at GOA, her role evolved to support rapid evolution, including the expansion of the organization's summer program from 200 students to 1,200. Susan has also worked as a writer and a consultant focusing on curriculum development and professional learning, and as Director of Content for The Grow Network. Previously, she served as English Department Chair for the Collegiate School in New York, NY where she led a 12-member 5th-12th grade department. She has authored numerous publications and worked in interdisciplinary programs including: American Studies, Asian Studies, and World Cultures. She earned her BA degree in Government/English from Smith College, her Master's degree in Educational Leadership from Harvard University, and a Master's in English Literature from Middlebury College.
