New Performing Arts Faculty — Dale Sharp

Dale is thrilled to join The Northwest School for many reasons, with education being at the forefront. He finds great joy in witnessing the growth of theatre students and helping them hone their unique talents across the many disciplines within the theatre world. At NWS, the experiential learning approach provides hands-on and mind-expanding opportunities, allowing students to see tangible results from their efforts and achievements.

Having grown up in the Pacific Northwest, Dale has found immense satisfaction in creating art across the region, from Vancouver, BC, to California. A highlight of his career was building a theatre troupe of teens and pre-teens and bringing an original piece to perform in New York at the MTV headquarters. However, what was even more meaningful to him was witnessing the lasting impact these opportunities had on the students involved.

After stepping away from teaching acting, Dale's passion for technical theatre grew, leading him to explore the intricate layers of production. His dedication to the craft led him to join the Board of Directors for Yelm's nonprofit theatre company, a journey that ultimately brought him to NWS.

Dale looks forward to the many wonderful memories that will be created at NWS and is excited to be part of this vibrant community.
