Clarissa is a dedicated educator with a passion for fostering real-world learning and student engagement. She holds a BA in Physics with a Math minor and a Master’s in Teaching Math and Science from Seattle Pacific University. Her professional development includes extension courses focused on supporting multilingual learners and integrating technology into the classroom.

With eight years of experience teaching physics and two years in mathematics, Clarissa has worked in various educational settings, including alternative, military, public, and charter schools. Her diverse background has equipped her with adaptability and innovation in her teaching approach. She has also served as a course lead and advisor for the Women in STEM club, and collaborated with public school teachers in California to improve state science assessments.

Clarissa’s teaching philosophy emphasizes active engagement, critical thinking, and teamwork, encouraging students to apply their knowledge to real-world challenges. She is committed to creating a nurturing and intellectually stimulating environment for all students at The Northwest School.
