Erik Szabados
Humanities Teacher
Erik comes to us from The Breck School in Golden Valley, Minnesota, where he taught hybrid, remote, and in-person English to 9th and 10th graders. Prior to his time at The Breck School, Erik was an English and Theory of Knowledge instructor at The Quarry Lane School in Dublin, California for nearly a decade. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Master of Arts in Humanities from the University of Chicago. In his free time, he has worked as a martial arts instructor, teaching adults and kids Brazilian jiu-jitsu, women’s self-defense, and kid’s judo. In his cover letter, Erik notes: “From my own background in Classics, Comparative Literature, History, and Cultural Studies, I bring a lifelong passion for diverse cultures and traditions to each class and lesson, hoping to provide a wider context for literature as a laboratory of expression and reflection to grapple with the issues and developments of our time.”
