Neo Mazur
Director of Environmental Education & Sustainability
Neo holds a Bachelor of Science in global resource systems from Iowa State University, and a Master of Arts in education, urban environmental education from Antioch University. Neo Mazur joins us from her work as the Community Food Education Program Manager for Solid Ground. Neo’s extensive environmental and agriculture experience includes serving as an anti-racism trainer and project manager for the Beacon Food Forest, director of environmental education at the Boys & Girls Club of King County, and the Farm Manager for the Meskwaki tribal nation in Tama, IA. In her application materials, Neo shared: “While farming alongside communities that reflect many of my own identities, I found myself often seeking to grow my peers instead of merely growing our crops. Teaching others amplified my impact beyond a single harvest. I found through my interactions a need to reframe my academic education through a more equity-focused, place-based lens; this guided me to pursue a master's focused on liberatory education in an urban environment. I value farming and teaching; research and advising; playing and engineering.”
