Prior to joining Northwest School, Richard spent a decade shaping young minds in diverse classrooms across the country. His journey began with Teach For America, where he discovered his calling while teaching math in Providence, RI. Witnessing the struggles and triumphs of his students ignited a deep commitment to education.
Richard's teaching career spanned from the sun-drenched classrooms of The Bentley School in Oakland, CA, to the historic halls of Stuart Hall for Boys in San Francisco. He also honed his leadership skills by recruiting for Teach For America at the University of California, Berkeley, where he inspired countless students to embrace the transformative power of education.
Beyond the classroom, Richard is a dedicated mentor and advocate for student well-being. He believes in building strong relationships and creating a supportive environment where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
