Dr. Samuel J. Timinsky is an experienced educator with a passion for history, rhetoric, politics, and debate. He holds a Ph.D. in History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, as well as an M.A. in International Studies from the University of Washington.

With 14 years of teaching experience across university, high school, and middle school levels, Samuel has taught at several esteemed institutions, including The Nueva School in California and the Robinson Center for Young Scholars. His dedication to teaching has been recognized with numerous awards, including the University of Chicago’s Outstanding Educator Award in 2022. Samuel is also an experienced speech and debate coach, having led his students to a national championship in Parliamentary Debate in 2023. Samuel recently earned his First Diamond Award as a coach, from the National Speech & Debate Association Honor Society.

Believing that humanities education is essential for building empathy and advocacy skills, Samuel is passionate about exploring the complexities of prose and text. He thrives in environments that honor diverse voices and global perspectives, and he is committed to fostering a rich learning experience for all students.
