Rachel Fumia

As our new Associate Director of College Counseling, Rachel comes to Northwest with a decade of experience. She has served as a college counselor at the George School in Newtown, Pennsylvania, and German Town Friends School in Philadelphia. She holds a Master of Arts in Secondary Education from the University of Mississippi, and a Master of Fine Arts from New School University. Rachel comes from a family of teachers and educators and enjoys both guiding and learning from students every day.

Says Rachel: “Listening to students is important for everyone. Their ideas are frequently helpful. They are learning how to evaluate what they are thinking within a broader context. They are discovering this world and their place in it. Every moment with students is a teachable moment, on both sides of the equation.”
